Kallie James Charged with DUI homicide Pearce County WashingtonWoman charged with vehicular homicide in death of Puyallup pastor

TACOMA, WA – 12/17/2014 –  Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist charged Kallie Marion James, 19, with vehicular homicide for running through a stop sign and striking Pastor Eric Renz as he rode his bicycle in Puyallup. James was charged with vehicular assault on Nov. 26, 2014, and she posted $250,000 bail. Renz died two weeks later. James pleaded not guilty to the amended charge this afternoon, and she remains out of custody on bail.

“Eric was an active, good-hearted and well-liked member of our community,” said Prosecutor Mark Lindquist. “Many are feeling this loss. His death unfortunately serves as another reminder of why driving and drugs don’t mix.”

On Nov. 24, 2014, James ran a stop sign near the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup and struck Renz. When police arrived, James’ eyes appeared “watery and bloodshot,” and she admitted to taking an anti-depressant and smoking marijuana prior to driving. A drug recognition expert examined James and determined that she was “impaired and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely.” James’ blood samples were sent to the Washington State Patrol’s Toxicology Lab for analysis. Results are pending.

Witnesses told police that James was speeding and did not attempt to stop at the stop sign prior to striking Renz, who was wearing a bright-yellow coat.

Charges are only allegations and a person is presumed innocent unless he or she is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The Vancouver Police Department arrested a man on the charge of driving under the influence of marijuana in connection with a deadly crash in Vancouver. The next day the Clark County Prosecutors Office said that in spite of the police press release stating that Rowles was charged, that in fact, he never was charged but just to confuse the public even more, the charges which were supposedly never placed, were dropped.  Now the reader has the entire story and those who smoke dope ought not to drive any more than those who drink. It is clear from the photo of Scotty Rowles that he had trouble seeing clearly.  In spite of the actions of the prosecutor, the victim in this case is still dead.

Investigators said the driver hit and killed a pedestrian around 5:50 p.m. on East Mill Plain Boulevard and Andresen Road.

Police say the victim, Donald Collins, a male in his 50’s, was believed to be walking back from Safeway and stepped out into the middle of traffic.

The driver, Scotty Rowles, was driving westbound on East Mill Plain Boulevard and could not stop his car in time, according to police.

Detectives says Rowles cooperated with the investigation, but after interviewing him they determined there was enough evidence to arrest him on suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana.

Police believe this is the first deadly crash involving the drug since it became legal in the state of Washington.

Police say the victim was close to two different lit and controlled intersections, but chose to step out into the middle of traffic, which would clearly put him at fault. … Read more:

Kory Charleton the Charlatan Cop San Bernardino Calif SO
SUSPECT: Kory Adam Charleton, 23, Highland

San Bernardino Sheriff John McMahon reports that on December 18, 2014, at 7:30 am a Highland Station Detective was diving in the area of 13th St. and Bangor Ave. in the city of Highland. The detective observed what appeared to be an unmarked Crown Victoria police unit. The Highland Detective noticed the Crown Victoria was stopped in the roadway and the driver was speaking to a pedestrian at the passenger side window. Believing the driver of the Crown Victoria was a police officer conducting a pedestrian stop, the Highland Detective pulled in behind the Crown Victoria to assist with the stop.

Once the Detective was behind the Crown Victoria, the pedestrian suddenly jumped in the passenger seat of the Crown Victoria and the vehicle drove away. The Highland Detective initiated a traffic stop on the Crown Victoria and contacted the driver.

The driver was identified as career criminal, Kory Charleton from Highland. Charlton was found to be driving under the influence of drugs and was arrested. He is also on Felony Probation for Grand Theft Auto. During a search of the Crown Victoria, investigators located a police scanner, replica police badge, and burglary tools. The Crown Victoria was also equipped with illegal emergency lights and a siren.

Investigators found anonymous police reports identifying Charleton driving through his neighborhood, in the 26700 block of 14th Street in Highland, with the emergency lights and sirens activated.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY – A ten-year veteran deputy in Douglas County is on paid administrative leave after an arrest for driving under the influence early Tuesday morning.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Steps Up DUI Enforcement for the Holidays

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be out in force in an effort to reduce the number of DUI related car crashes.  The crackdown, which will include high-visibility enforcement throughout Douglas County, will start November 26th and will run until the end of the year.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies will be aggressively looking for drunk drivers during the crackdown and will arrest anyone caught driving drunk.

Although it is illegal in all 50 States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico to drive drunk (having a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or higher), far too many people across the nation get behind the wheel after consuming too much alcohol. The latest statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration underscore the serious nature of the nation’s continuing drunk driving epidemic.

“Every year, we see far too many fatalities as a result of driving drunk” said Sheriff Tony Spurlock.  “Research has shown that high-visibility enforcement reduces drunken driving fatalities by as much as 20 percent. By stepping up our DUI enforcement this holiday season, we will make Douglas County roadways safer for everyone,” said Sheriff Spurlock. “We want to remind everyone that getting behind the wheel drunk is a terrible idea. Unfortunately, not only does drinking impair your ability to operate a vehicle safely, it also impairs your judgment and good sense about whether you can, or should drive.

Deerfield Beach, Florida — A woman was killed as she waited for the bus in Deerfield Beach when an intoxicated driver drove his car onto the sidewalk. Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigation detectives are investigating the fatal crash.

At 6:52 p.m., Jamie Lynn Honaker was sitting at a county bus stop on the north sidewalk near the 1400 block of West Sample Road when she was struck by a GMC Safari.
