Seven passengers in truck of DUI illegal alien all beat feet; only the dead guy stuck around when Antonio Sanchez crashed into canal

FROM Palm Beach Post

A Lake Worth-area man had a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit when he crashed into a canal late Sunday, killing a teenage passenger, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Antonio Sanchez, 44, faces DUI manslaughter charges, as well as a charge of driving without a valid license. Judge Caroline Shepherd ordered the Mexico citizen, who has lived in Palm Beach County for nearly three decades, be held without the possibility of bond. He told Shepherd he has a Social Security number and has lived in the same home for 13 years.

“I find that he is a danger to a community,” Shepherd said. “This is at least his sixth time driving without a license and this time it resulted in death.”

“I find that he is a danger to a community,” Shepherd said. “This is at least his sixth time driving without a license and this time it resulted in death.”

Wilson A. Granajo, 19, was one of seven passengers riding in Sanchez’ pickup during the wreck, Sanchez told sheriff’s authorities, according to an arrest report. However, sheriff’s authorities only located Sanchez and Granajo, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

The West Palm Beach teenager died at Lakeside Medical Center in Belle Glade from injuries sustained in the crash, the sheriff’s office said. Records indicate he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.

Eric Dempsey killed two men when he blew stop sign running from cops; Edward Rice and his stepson, Robert Owens

Eric Dempsey killed two men when he was DWI and blew stop sign Syracuse Police Sept 21, 2017 (2)

FROM THE SYRACUSE POLICE DEPARTMENT

·MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2017
On Saturday, September 22, 2017, at about 7:00 P.M. Syracuse Police Officers pulled over a green 2002 Ford Explorer on Shonnard St. at the intersection of S. West St. for a traffic infraction. That vehicle was being operated by Eric Dempsey. As the uniformed officers approached the vehicle, Dempsey sped away from them, onto W. Onondaga St., then onto Midland Ave. The officers, operating a marked Syracuse Police Department vehicle attempted to catch up to Dempsey’s vehicle, which was now on Lincoln Ave. Dempsey still disregarded the Officers’ lights and sirens, ordering him to stop.
At the intersection of Lincoln Ave. and Tallman St., Dempsey did not stop at the stop sign and collided with a white sedan, which was being operated by Edward Rice. Rice’s step-son, Robert Owens was riding in the passenger seat of that vehicle. The Police Officers immediately called for medical assistance and began medical assistance of their own.
American Medical Response Ambulance (AMR) transported both of those men to Upstate University Hospital, although Edward Rice, 49 years of age died before reaching there. Robert Owens, 22 years of age, was pronounced dead a short time later.
AMR also transported Dempsey to Upstate University Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries. When he was released from the hospital, he was lodged in the Onondaga Justice Center on the charges of Manslaughter 2nd (2 counts), Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd (2 Counts), and Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer 1st, DWI and numerous Vehicle and Traffic violations.
This investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Syracuse Police Department Traffic Division at (315) 442-5130. All calls will remain confidential. Anonymous tips may also be submitted using the “SPD Tips” app

LAPD Officer Edgar Omar Verduzco charged with roasting family of three DUI manslaughter

Los Angeles Police Officer Edgar Verduzco charged with roasting to death family of three in DUI crash

An off-duty Los Angeles police officer is suspected of driving drunk and causing a three-car crash on the 605 Freeway on Tuesday night, killing a Riverside couple and their son when they could not exit their burning car.

The suspect, 26-year-old Edgar Omar Verduzco of Santa Ana, suffered a broken nose.

Verduzco was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter, according to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Armando Perdomo. The CHP is handling the criminal investigation.

CHP Officer Al Perez said Verduzco appeared to have been drinking. He identified Verduzco as an LAPD officer.

Perez said a couple and their teenage son died in the 10:15 p.m. crash on the southbound 605 Freeway, south of Saragosa Street, in the unincorporated community of  West Whittier.

But Riverside Unified School District officials identified the young man killed as an employee, as well as a former student, of the district.

“It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that one of the victims of that crash was a graduate of John W. North High School and was serving as an RUSD employee before the accident, tutoring AVID students at his alma mater,” RUSD spokesman Justin Grayson said in a written statement. “Sadly, the two other victims of the crash were the parents of that former student.”

Grief counselors were sent to North High School as soon as officials learned of the former student’s death, Grayson said.

“On behalf of the RUSD Board of Education, our superintendent, and the entire RUSD family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this tragedy. There will always be an unfillable void left in our hearts when we lose a beloved member of our RUSD team,” he said.

Maribel, Mario and Oscar Davila killed by boozing LA cop Sept. 27, 2017

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck spoke at a press conference Wednesday. “My heart goes out to the victims and the families. And I cannot tell you how angry and disappointed I am that a Los Angeles police officer would disregard the law and cause an accident with such awful, awful consequences.”

Beck said the department takes alcohol abuse, particularly driving under the influence, very seriously. The LAPD has opened an administrative investigation.

Josh Rubenstein, a spokesman for the LAPD, said Verduzco worked the front desk at Central Division in downtown Los Angeles.

Beck described Verduzco’s two years with the LAPD as unremarkable. Before joining the department, he said Verduzco served in the U.S. Army for almost four years. including in Afghanistan.

Beck said he believed the officer was on his day off Tuesday.

CHP Officer Gersain Chavez said in a statement that Verduzco was driving his 2016 Chevy Camaro and speeding in the carpool lane of the southbound 605 Freeway Tuesday night. He said the Camaro rear-ended a Nissan in the No. 1 lane and a Scion in the No. 2 lane.

Chief Beck Statement Regarding Fatal Freeway Crash of DUI Officer Killing Family of Three

LA Police Chief Charlie Beck

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department has learned that one of its off-duty police officers was involved in a traffic accident on the 605 Freeway late last night, that resulted in the tragic death of three people. According to the California Highway Patrol, who is investigating the crash, our officer was arrested for suspicion of DUI. The Department sends its deepest sympathies to the families of the victims in this horrific collision. The LAPD has initiated an administrative investigation and will work with the CHP as they continue their investigation, however, the Department has no tolerance for driving under the influence and holds its officers to the highest standards of professionalism both on and off-duty. The LAPD understands the significant danger innocent drivers face when any person gets behind the wheel while they are impaired, which is why we conduct random sobriety checks throughout the City. It is particularly troubling when one of our own police officers violates drunk driving laws, which is why a drunk driving offense always results in a personnel complaint which can lead to dismissal. In instances where nobody has been injured, employees often receive suspension days and employees sign a contract in which an individual will submit to randomized testing, treatment programs, and abstinence from alcohol as a condition of continued employment.

Circuit Court Judge Paula Brownhill has set Barnett’s bail at $500,000. She is scheduled to appear in court again next week. If convicted on all charges, she faces a minimum of 16 years in prison.

Barnett’s father is former Seaside Police Lt. Steve Barnett, who unsuccessfully ran for county sheriff in 2012 and retired last year. Barnett, a veteran police officer, had filed a federal lawsuit against District Attorney Josh Marquis claiming his free speech and due process rights were violated when Marquis refused to use Barnett as a witness in prosecutions because of concerns about the officer’s credibility. A federal appeals court ruled last year that Marquis had absolute immunity from the lawsuit.  MORE

DWI HIT PARADE

DUI driver Joe Louis Ancrum went one round into power pole, and the pole won

HURLOCK, MD. – A drunk driver with a famous name decided to flee after narrowly missing a police car, his first stop on his path to jail.  With that sobriety test out of the way, the motorist gunned it and slammed into a power pole. The pole won.

Maryland State Police report that during the early morning of October 3, 2017, at 3:53 AM, Senior Trooper McMaster was traveling to his assignment while on duty and was at the intersection of Railroad Ave and Route 307, Hurlock, Dorchester County, Maryland.

Upon entering the intersection, a red Ford passenger vehicle being driven by Joe Louis Ancrum Jr., 45 years of age from Hurlock, failed to stop at a stop sign.  Ancrum came inches of colliding with the trooper’s vehicle.

Senior Trooper McMaster successfully avoided being struck by Ancrum.  Senior Trooper McMaster attempted to stop Ancrum however he fled attempting to elude police.  He continued traveling at a high rate of speed.  Ancrum lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a Delmarva Power electrical poll causing a power outage.

Medical personnel were requested to evaluate Ancrum however he refused treatment.  During the course of this investigation, Ancrum displayed signs of impairment by alcohol.

Troopers at the scene arrested Ancrum for driving under the influence of alcohol.  He was transported to the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack Dorchester County Detachment where he was further processed and issued several traffic citations to include driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a revoked license and driving without a license.  He was released to his mother pending a court date.

Road Rage Incident Ends With Arrest of Joseph Biacan for DUI and Nicole Jacobson for Assaulting Troopers

Indiana State Police traffic stop

According to Indiana State Police, a Maryland man who is wanted for failing to appear in court in that state is now under arrest for DUI and his passenger is behind bars for assaulting several Indiana troopers.

Police report that on Oct. 10, 2017, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Indiana State Police Regional Dispatch received a report of a road rage incident between two drivers on I-65 near the 215-mile marker (Rensselaer Exit) in Jasper County.  Police say that the vehicles continued on I-65 northbound and exited at exit 230 (Roselawn/Demotte) where Master Trooper Glen Fifield observed the TrailBlazer following the complainant’s vehicle at an unsafe distance.  A traffic stop was initiated by M/Trooper Fifield on the suspect vehicle at the intersection of I-65 and S.R. 10.  Troopers Paul Arnold and Master Trooper Lionel Douglas also assisted in the traffic stop. Preliminary investigation by Trooper Arnold revealed that the driver, Joseph Biacan, of Derwood, Maryland, had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.  Numerous open containers of alcohol were also observed in the vehicle.  Trooper Arnold administered several field sobriety tests and a portable breath test at the scene.  A certified breath test was also later administered with a result of .09% blood alcohol content.

While at the scene of the traffic stop and prior to the field sobriety tests, a female passenger in the TrailBlazer, later identified as Nicole A. Jacobson, 30, of Waianae, Hawaii, was asked for identification as well as a statement as to the road rage incident.  During this interaction with Troopers, Jacobson became combative and uncooperative.  Troopers also detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages on her breath as well as having observed open containers in her lap and on the floorboard of the car.  During questioning by Trooper Arnold, Jacobson started to stumble into traffic and wasn’t cooperating with verbal commands.  Trooper Arnold attempted to handcuff Jacobson when she became combative with him and other Troopers.  Jacobson began to kick and hit Troopers during the arrest.

While re-securing her in the police car, she kicked a troopers hand as it was rested against the door, but he was not injured.

While sitting in a police car, Jacobson attempted to remove the handcuffs and kick the dash of the police car.  While re-securing her in the police car, she kicked a troopers hand as it was rested against the door, but he was not injured.  An ambulance was called to the scene for a welfare check due to Jacobson’s high level of intoxication as well as her stating to officers that she was pregnant.

Jacobson was transported to Franciscan Health in Rensselaer where she was medically cleared for incarceration at the Jasper County Jail.  While at the jail, Jacobson physically assaulted a corrections officer during the booking process.  Jacobson is being charged with two counts of Battery on Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony), 1 count of Resisting Arrest (A Misdemeanor) and Public Intoxication (B Misdemeanor).  Joseph Biacan was also incarcerated at the Jasper County Jail and charged with Operating While Intoxicated (A misdemeanor).

Joseph Biacan, of 4900 McCall Street, Rockville, Md., is wanted on an open warrant in Montgomery County, Md., for violating a peace order filed in District Court on Aug. 8, 2017. Biacan was due in Court in Rockville, Md., on July 30, 2017.

Biacan was arrested by Montgomery County, Md., Police Officer Eddie Alesich on May 28, 2014, at 9:20 pm for driving while impaired on 16254 Frederick Road in a 1996 Chevy. On Oct. 14, 2014, Montgomery County States Attorney John McCarthy dropped the charges.

ST. CHARLES, Illinois —  10/11/2017 — According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, a Geneva man is facing felony Reckless Homicide and Aggravated DUI charges in connection with a fiery crash that killed his passenger last week near St. Charles.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Raphael Peruzza of Eldorado Dr. in Geneva was arrested over the weekend after his release from Delnor Hospital.

Nineteen-year-old Nicholas Daniel Hanson of Husking Peg Ln. in Geneva was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Friday, where he was a passenger in the vehicle being driven by Peruzza.

FROM WSPY

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched at 2:15 a.m. on Friday morning to a traffic crash with injuries on Burr Rd. south of Hawkins Ln. in unincorporated St. Charles Township.

The investigation indicated that Peruzza was traveling south on Burr Rd. For an unknown reason, his vehicle left the roadway and flipped eventually coming to a rest in a tree line on the east side of Burr Rd.

Prior to the arrival of deputies, Peruzza had been able to exit the vehicle; however, the vehicle was on fire.

After the fire was extinguished, Hanson was found deceased inside the vehicle. Peruzza was transported to Delnor Hospital with apparent non-life threatening injuries, prior to his release.

Kane County Coroner Rob Russell said that due to the nature of the crash, Hanson’s body was initially unidentifiable, prior to toxicology samples being sent off.   MORE
