2014-03-10 — According to Sergeant Andy Martinez of the Riverside Sheriff’s Department on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at about 04:00 AM, officers of the Palm Desert Police Department were dispatched to the area of Highway 111 and San Pablo Ave, in reference to a report of a single vehicle traffic collision. Upon arrival, officers located the described vehicle resting atop a roadway edge curb with two uninjured occupants. At the conclusion of this investigation, Ruben Esquivel, 24 of Niland was arrested for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and booked at the Riverside County jail in Indio.
