TEXAS: DEADLY DAY IN BRYAN — Colton Bradley charged with DWI manslaughter in death of James Ragsdale; Adam Alvaro Garcia charged with DWI by Bryan Police after booze cruise into the bedroom of an occupied home

Colton Howard Bradley charged with DWI manslaughter in the death of James Ross Ragsdale

On February 29, 2020, at 4:45 am Officers responded to 1700 block of Briarcrest at the intersection of E. 29th St. for a major accident. A Camaro was traveling northbound on 29th St. when it ran a red light. A GMC pickup truck was traveling westbound on Briarcrest and struck the Camaro on the passenger side. The force of the collision caused the GMC truck to roll onto its side and the Camaro spun out striking a Buick Verano facing south on E 29th St. The following are the occupants and their status:

Bradley: “I’m going to jail for manslaughter of my best friend”

Buick Verano – one female occupant was transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital. She was treated and released with minor injuries.

GMC pickup – a male and female occupant were transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital. They were both treated and released with serious injuries.

Chevrolet Camaro – Passenger was transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital and was pronounced deceased. The passenger has been identified as James Ross Ragsdale, 27 of Bryan.

FROM THE EAGLE: A College Station man was arrested on a felony drug charge after police pulled him over near Texas A&M’s campus early Saturday.

According to Texas A&M University Police, an officer responded to a church parking lot to assist an officer who had pulled over James Ross Ragsdale, 25. Police say Ragsdale refused to get out of his vehicle or to perform a sobriety test. He was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. MORE

On Jan. 30, 2020, Ragsdale was given a suspended sentence of 180 days for his 2018 DWI conviction; had he been in jail, he wouldn’t have been a passenger in his DWI pal’s car.

Bryan Police report that the driver, Colton Bradley, 21, of Midland, Texas, was treated by medics on the scene and arrested for one count of Intoxication Manslaughter and two counts of Intoxication Assault.

BRYAN, Texas — A Bryan woman’s need to run to the bathroom in the middle of the night might have just saved her life. She told police she had just gotten up to use the bathroom and when she returned, a truck was in her bedroom.

Adam Garcia, 24, is charged with deadly conduct, DWI and criminal mischief. He’s accused of driving drunk and driving his truck into the 72-year-old Bryan woman’s home. Police said he caused over $35,000 in damage after hitting three properties and a car during his drive. MORE
